Until recently the NSW Government owned and operated the three
standard electricity retailers in NSW - Country Energy,
EnergyAustralia and Integral Energy. The retail parts of
these businesses (the parts of the business that sells electricity
to customers) were sold on 1 March 2011. As a result of the
sale
- EnergyAustralia retail customers will be transferred to
TRUenergy
- Integral Energy retail customers will be transferred to Origin
Energy
- Country Energy retail customers will be transferred to Origin
Energy.
Transitional arrangements are now in place to transfer customers
to their new retailer. The arrangements and timing of
transfers will vary depending on the retailer.
During the transition period we will work with the businesses to
move to the new names. Until then the website will continue
to refer to EnergyAustralia, Integral Energy and Country Energy as
the standard retailers in NSW.
